The new pick-up technology I

1.)   The innovation: flexible pick-up for best fodder quality   patented

  1. To achieve best forage quality the working tools have to be guided above ground in the most perfect possible way. The pick-up technology is in this aspect by far superior to the rotary raking technology. The large surface area of possible ground contact of the rotary raking technology is replaced by a simple slim line contact of the pick-up technology. The next consistent step of innovation was more or less obvious: the flexible pick-up offers instead of the straight line contact a curve as line of contact, thus hugging the ground in the most perfect way.

  2. The flexible pick-up has another advantage: because of elasticity the acting forces on the component will be less damaging as the unit is acting in a shock absorbing way. Thus longevity is substantially improved.

  3. In addition to that, the elasticity of the pick-up offers the access to large single unit pick-up systems. Resulting in lower cost and less weight. One drive line for a 6-7m pick-up can be achieved in the near future.

  4. This means that for the coming years pick-up rakes up to 14-16m are technically possible.

2.)   Very small diameter

The smaller the diameter, the more crop caring the pick-up process. This is a well known fact. Furthermore, for an flexible pick-up system the diameter of the pick-up has to be small to offer elasticity. A further fact that fits into the picture. For high performance raking the small diameter of the pick-up is a clear advantage. The innovation of the flexible pick-up concept is thus build on this solid foundation.

3.)   Up to 7m width with six bearings only – more simple will be almost impossible   patented

How many cams are you willing to service in your pick-up rake for the future? Two for 3m, four for 6m ? Each tine carrier with steering arm uses 3 bearings. A six row pick-up holds than on 3m working width with two cams a total of 36 bearings (!) – the main bearings not taken into account. If we transform that to a 6m wide pick-up system, we end up with 72 bearings – an impressive amount.

Simplicity is the challenge for the future.

Who wants to own a pick-up rake with so many bearings in the pick-up system, where the effort of maintaining the unit can destroy the enjoyment of the product. Respiro technology is the answer: camless, almost wearless, simple, durable, performant, …

Including the centre drive, the pick-up shaft has only six bearings. More simple is not possible. The modular, flexible system can be built till 7m wide in one unit, still using just six bearings (!).

4.)   Anti-loss system for pick-up tines – a revolution for the succeeding harvesting machine   patented

The pick-up tines are fixed in an innovative way. Pick-up tines cannot be lost anymore. Tine legs can bend but they will not break – to the benefit of animals and machines.

As a proud owner of this new technology you have the benefit that tines cannot come loose anymore, your will experience less worry and substantially higher performance and working quality. A good perspective for the new season ….

5.)   Skids or rotating discs guide the pick-up perfectly above ground

Would it not be great, if the pick-up tines statistically barely would touch the soil? This vision has become reality. Four ground hugging elements for 3m and five elements for 3.5 to 7m ensure a perfection of ground hugging for the pick-up without any comparison. Due to this system the bends of the pick-up practically cannot touch the ground anymore – resulting in a substantial increase of longevity of the pick-up system.

6.)   Top working quality with high performance

Up to now the development in direction of wider, heavier, faster always embraced the fact of a reduction in working quality. Henceforth times are changing:

The elasticity of the system opens the door wide into a new dimension of harvesting technology: wider, faster, more flexible and on top with better working quality.

7.)   Productivity for the following harvesting technology newly defined

Sweeping grass was so far accepted by the professionals as a compromise due to lack of alternative technologies – both functionally and price wise for permanent grassland and field crops in Europe. The very challenging conditions in respect to humidity and short grass could not be managed properly by the existing state of the art technology of mergers, pick-up rakes. This is now a totally different story with the small pick-up diameter and the flexible, durable and user friendly pick-up system.

The fluffy swath and the outstanding flexibility of the system in the field allow a reduction of harvesting cost to an extent unthinkable for many. Why should a performing harvesting chain follow with 5-6 cuts per year every 12-14m the four rotor rake, if in the future 24-28m of crop can be taken at once? The number of passes is cut by half, working stress of the drivers is substantially reduced and soil compaction and damage done at  the headlands cut down to a minimum.
